The issue reinforces Public’s goal of providing broad access to important work on publicly-engaged work by challenging traditional forms of knowledge-sharing. Since its founding, Public has embraced alternatives to the long-form illustrated essay, supporting mixed and interactive media that allow ideas to be shared in ways that support multiple-voices, non-linear storytelling, evolving dialogs, and other reader-driven experiences.
