A Cautionary Reflection or /
A Frightening Realization

WE were living, not really noticing, so WE lost sight of ultimate and inevitable ends WE mistook our personal behaviors as more significant Forgetting our common humanity, cultures and values yield a larger plane of existence where we all belong. WE forgot that walking the talk requires intention and is not second nature WE did not notice the changes in the Very world we occupied together, the air WE breathed, the water WE drank, the food we ate. WE worked hard to gain more, losing it then to buy more, even though WE had too much to use and little space in which to store it. Sharing, became a missionary impulse, a scattered thought, too cumbersome to explore.

WE busied ourselves in our world occupied by ourselves mostly, touching lightly and occasionally, family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, loves........ WE were building our brand, our network, our contacts, our mentions, our hashtags, our imprint in electronic, digital and printed media. WE were making it. Making our own way, our own everything. Even our relationships became possessions. The thought of shared experience became reserved for happenings, events, Living together became mundane, a responsibility bordering on burden. Our dreams became a hankering for more never less. A good rest became an irregular occurrence surprising us at its simple influence in our feeling good.

The world became a regular occurrence of natural upset, fires floods, earthquakes tsunamis, droughts famine, homelessness Occurring concurrently and serially reminiscent of biblical prophesy.

Our separate worlds and assumed separate ways became uncomfortably personal as difference moved from away to close and without recognizing it became an imperative as the need for acceptance became intimate and very personal. And, though WE gained communications with the world, WE lost touch with each other.

While WE were engaged and hard working, we didn’t notice, the temperature and the water levels rising WE didn’t notice the land loss or the spontaneous fires. Mother Earth was sending signs, alarms, even rage. And, WE didn’t notice Australia on fire! Louisiana disappearing! Antarctica melting! Insect and animal species gone! Nuclear acceleration! Children Starving! Suicide rates rising! Genocide brazen and cold! Hate triggered Homicide! Homelessness spiraling! Check out the homeless parking lots!

WE are in crisis! The odds stacking rapidly against us! Too many uninvolved, unaware, unconvinced, overwhelmed, WE need more .............. more hands, more hearts and more heads in the effort to Save the Planet! where is Homeland Security when you need it?

Where are WE in this human drama? What are WE doing to help? How are WE willing to share, to sacrifice, to contribute? Do WE care about our neighbors, near and far? How do WE show it? Can WE be vulnerable in the stand for what’s right? Are WE working with others? Are WE seeking new ideas, new strategies, new allies? Are WE open to change? Can WE find our way home? Will WE get there soon…....soon enough to save Tomorrow? Will WE? Will WE?

Remember the echoing counsel of the ancients, Healers, prophets, shaman and sacred leaders Through time, they speak to us of the promise and the power of HEALING!

Living in co-existence with the earth, other lifeforms on the planet, In the waters, in the air, the life that grows from the earth, This has balanced our destructive and consumptive ways…... until now. These ancient and present voices tell us the people need to attend, Their physical, social and spiritual wounds and the Earth needs healing now!

Can WE lift our veils of ignorance, indifference and arrogance? Can WE remove our armor that prevents and dulls connection? Can WE Remove our eye shades that limit light and vision? Can WE grapple, struggle, imagine, divine from the concoction of reality we live? A way of being that affirms, the interconnectedness of all living things. Can WE generate a willing consciousness that is both WE based and also self-conscious? Can WE grow a spiritual core that recognizes the essential and eternal truth The only Love there is, is the Love we make?

Can WE? Can WE?........ Will WE?
